John Robinson

John Robinson studied at the David Ghilchik School of  Painting in Chelsea, London, and the Sir John Cass School of Art, Whitechapel, London.

He paints his figure subjects direct from the model, and paints and sketches his landscape subjects direct from nature; but as the British climate is not always suitable for the direct painting approach, he makes use of his sketches and executes many of his oil paintings in the studio.

He has been influenced by the traditional British landscape painters and the Post-Impressionists. He has taken a particular interest in the Nabis Group, and their subsequent development.
